Diana Altamar
Originally from Colombia, South America, where she earned her B.S. in Clinical Psychology, Diana has an M.S in Clinical Psychology from the University of Bologna, Italy, did additional advanced coursework in Family Therapy at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Spain, and received her professional psychologist license from the Colegio Colombiano de Psicólogos in Colombia. Professionally, she has been a marketing research psychologist, a university admissions psychologist, a trainer for Bavarian Motor Works (BMW), and a professor of Human Development, Social Psychological Processes and Ethics at the Minuto de Dios University in Colombia.
Upon emigrating and moving to Maryland, Diana worked with Girl Scouts of the Nation's Capital as a Membership Operations Specialist with particular emphasis on community outreach and support to the Hispanic population Council-wide.
Diana is a certified instuctor and Authorized Provider of American Red Cross trainings such as Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED (Automated External Defibrillator), Basic Life Support, Babysitter/Advanced Child Care, and Bloodborne Pathogens. She also serves as the American Red Cross Latino Engagement Initiative Leader for the National Capital and Greater Chesapeake Region, working with Hispanic community groups and coordinating, promoting and responding to local and national disaster preparedness programs and disaster relief operations.
